“Is Man Inherently Good or Inherently Evil’
“Is man inherently good or inherently evil” has always been argued. Many people today feel that people who are good come from good seeds and people that are bad come from bad seed. This is a question that you will get many different answers. When discussing this question with the Team, we discovered that the majority of the team believed that good and evil was inherited and one team member believed that good and evil was not inherited. Discussed below is the beliefs of each team member on whether good and evil is inherited.
Regina’s belief on “Is man inherently good or inherently evil. Regina is kind of in the middle of this question. Regina believes that man is inherently good (Kekes,2008). Regina feels that if someone is surrounded by their family members that posses’ good morals and values they are inherently good (Kekes, 2008). Regina also believes that if someone is surrounded by their family member and the family is evil that person is going to display evil traits from their family members (Keyes, 2008, Sect 2).
Erika’s belief on “Is man inherently good or inherently evil”. Erika believes wholeheartly that man is inherently good for the most part (Keyes, 2008). Erika believes that it depends on the environment from which a person lived in that will cause a person to be good or bad (Keyes, 2008). Erika feels that it depends on how you as an individual look at this question. Erika believes that it depends on the individual’s environment if evil and distrust was displayed towards them, it becomes apart of who they are. (Keyes,2008, Sect 2).
Arlene’s belief on “Is man inherently good or inherently bad”. Arlene believes that people who are predisposed with an evil gene and they have negative surroundings, will show inherently evil nature (Wallace, 2008). Arlene feels that people who have been raised in a bad environment does not necessarily mean that they will be evil....
