The Joy of Christmas Shopping

The joy and happiness that Christmas brings is not unknown to many people, but the worst part of Christmas is Christmas shopping. The hordes of people rushing last minute to the stores practically killing one another for that perfect gift for a friend or relative. Of course I being a procrastinator would be involved with this turmoil.
The day was December 21 and it was a cold chilly day that makes getting out of bed unappetizing. So I drag myself out of bed around eleven thirty in the morning because I hear my mother howling out “Get out of bed or you’ll never get the presents you want for Frank and Tim”, Then me replying “Yea yea I’m up chill out.” As I get out of bed and put on my clothes I think to myself this day is going to wintery hell. As I’m heading out the driveway my mom runs out the door in flagging me down. I look at her in confusion and realize she has my wallet in her right hand, so I stop and thank her for getting that foe me and head out.
I get onto the highway and get delayed as soon as I get on the merge area there had been a wreck involving four cars and there was an expected 2 hour delay. As I we inch forward every minute or two I figure I’ll be smooth and drive on the shoulder to get past the wreckage. As I clear the wreckage and I’m on my way I feel proud to of gotten away with that action, but I thought to myself to soon rite after that I see the worst sight in my rear view mirror and that is flashing blue lights. I pull over and wait for my ticket the officer approaches me and says “License and registration please.” So I give him my information then he says “Why were you driving on the shoulder of the road where a accident was near?” I say like an idiot “I was in a hurry”. He says “Well I’m giving you a ticket for wreck lace driving.” He explains to me what I have to do and we go our separate ways. I finally arrive at the store only to fight more with just parking.
