Fort sumter located near Charleston , South Carolina in the Charleton Harbor. On April 12, 1861 Fort Sumter was attack by the Confederacy. The confederracy general was Robert E. Lee. The President of the Confederacy Jefferson Davis also commander in chief of the confereracy army. (During the mexican-American war he was a colonel. He was also a U.S Senator and also a secretary of war). Robert E. Lee was the south's greatest general during the Civil War. At the beginning of the Civil War he help his soldiers win many battles but not the war. The Union General was Ulysses S. Grant he fought hard in the war but was very stubborn in battles and didn't like to be defented. He was a great military learder beacause of his training in Military Academy in New, York and his skills. He was remember as a great war hero. The Ptrersident of the Union army was Abraham Lincoln he was assassinated on April 14, 1865. The Union Army had about 2 million men fought on the Union army including african americans. In the Union army many soldiers have died in the Civil War 110,000 died in action. In total death 360,000 died in total from diseases, low supplies or in action. A total of 275,200 had bein wound and had lost body parts. In the Confederacy because of poor soldiers record-keeping there not really a accurate number of soldiers that were in the confederacy army from researching I estamate about 500,000 to 2,000,000 million men that were involved in the confederate army. In the Confederate Army About 258,000 confederate soldiers died in the civil war and I didn't really find how many men were wounded in the war.
