KEEPING THE ROYAL LAW INTRODUCTION: Based on self experience, humbling myself towards my brothers was one of my greatest struggles. Out of the three of us, I am the oldest brother, since I am the oldest, I make the rules, the decisions, and what goes. When majority wins and all hope is lost and I don’t get my way, I MADE SURE I GET IT MY WAY. I was very judgmental, selfish and prideful. But that was the past. Over the years, I’ve learned to honor my siblings. God has opened up my eyes to see the bigger picture and for today’s devotion, I will be sharing with you guys a similar lesson of how I got to earn respect how God humbled my heart and love my bros. Let’s turn our bibles to James 2: 8-13 “_8If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, "Love your neighbor as yourself,"[_a_] you are doing right. 9But if you show favoritism, you sin and are convicted by the law as lawbreakers. 10For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. 11For he who said, "Do not commit adultery,"[_b_] also said, "Do not murder."[_c]_ If you do not commit adultery but do commit murder, you have become a lawbreaker. 12Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, 13because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment! (James 2:8-13)”_ Ok let me read the first 4 verses… The first 4 verses straight up talks about not breaking the laws and if they were broken, you were considered as law breakers and a sinner. As humans, we are law breakers and we are sinners. Now tell me how many of you guys have not told one lie? Did you know that God considers a white lie as murder? Or the fact with a small hint of lust is considered adultery? If you guys say you have done anything of these things I’ve just mentioned, you have just lied. None of us are perfect. When we are born, we have already sinned. We have fallen from God’s glory from the time...
