Super -Size Me
Watching the movie Super-Size Me was an interesting video. In my opinion I think the guy that was doing this experiment was taken a huge risk. Growing up as a kid craving and eating McDonalds, never knew that eating it every day could cause someone to actually get sick. The guy who did the Super Size Me challenge was really healthy and then after
eating only McDonald’s for a month, he gained so much weight and proved that fast food
is unhealthy for your body. I don’t think fast food though is completely unhealthy, I think
that it also depends on your daily food habits. He is use to eating the right kinds of food
that changing his diet affected him rapidly. I was really shocked as well, when it said that
it took him 6 months to lose the weight that he gained in the one month he had
McDonalds.
For me I feel that eating fast food shouldn’t be a daily habit. In my life, I normally
have fast food on an average of 1-2 days a week. Sometimes it’s really hard though for
my parents to cook all our meals because we don’t always have a full supply of groceries
and also because we are always on the go. My mom tries to make our meals as much as
possible but when we are on our way somewhere she will get fast food. I don’t think that
fast food affects me too much because I workout at least 5 times a week. I’m not sure I’m
willing to change my diet because I feel like I don’t eat too much of the wrong things and
when I do, I easily lose the weight that I gained. I’m afraid that if I change my food habits I
might start getting health problems like the guy in the movie.
This movie has definitely taught me that eating just fast food is very unhealthy
because the food goes through a longer process and the longer the process the food
goes through the more unhealthy it is. Something that I will do to improve my health is
watch what I am eating and find a healthier version of the things I like
