Kobe Bryant has the Los Angeles Lakers franchise record of most points scored in a single game with eighty-one points in 2006 against the Toronto Raptors, which is also the second most in the entire National Basketball Association. LeBron James, also with great rewards in his repertoire, has won the NBA Most Valuable Player award three times throughout his career. Kobe Bryant was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he attended Lower Merion High School. LeBron James was born in Akron, Ohio where he grew up. He attended St. Marys-St.Vincent high school, a predominantly white school near Akron. Kobe Bryant was drafted in 1996 by the Charlotte Hornets to then immediately be traded to the Los Angeles Lakers. LeBron James was drafted first overall in the 2003 draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. Kobe Bryant is thought by many to be the second best player to ever play the game behind Michael Jordan, with LeBron James falling behind both of these incredible players.
Fans all over the world have come up with many reasons why James could possibly be better than Bryant. Many fans of James feel that he has left a better mark on the NBA than Bryant has. Bryant has left a much better mark than James, considering that Bryant has been in the league for five more years than James has, and that Bryant has achieved great things in those

five years. After being in the league for only five years, Kobe had already won two NBA Championships. In James’ first five years of play, he had not even come close to a championship. Bryant is considered a legend in the NBA, while James is merely an upcoming prodigy. As statistics show, James’ legacy is not even comparable to Bryant’s. At an age of thirty-four and his sixteenth year in the NBA, Bryant is still playing at a superstar level.
