For some people, the word "Nirvana" means enlightenment, for others - a place of final peace of mind. However, millions of rock fans understand only one thing, that “Nirvana” was the band that reinvented the status of rock stars in the '90s. NIRVANA was one of the unique representatives of the underground music scene, which has found fans who were listened to alternative rock music and fans of mainstream rock. Moreover, The lead singer Kurt Donald Cobain was the symbol of generation. He is well known for his rebellious -personality, incredible talent and raspy voice. He changed the face of rock music forever. His life can be divided into three parts such as life, death and his heritage.
First of all, Kurt Cobain said once, “I’d rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I’m not.” This statement clearly shows Kurt’s attitude to life and people. He grew up on punk music,that was music of rebels. All his career he tried to avoid mainstream and be outside of popular rock bands that sold themselves to labels completely. However, he was the most successful rock’n’roll star of 90’s. Nirvana played more than 100 concerts all over the world during their short life. Album “Nevermind” was 10x multi-platinum and MTV Unplugged in NY was 5 times multi-platinum.( "RIAA - Gold & Platinum Searchable Database - February 07, 2014"). However, Kurt never tried to be liked by other people and it was his unique streak. Nirvana made only 5 official music videos. Kurt was on opposite side of all musicians of that time. Secondly, death of Kurt Cobain is still a big question for everyone. According to official version it was a suicide. On 8th of April his body was found at his home in Seattle.( "Nirvana Timeline”, n.d.)...
