La Piedad *Father Florencio Landa, the School's Director, and the religion teachers provide pastoral services to the students. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is available daily upon student's request. Masses are held every morning at 8:00 A.M. A very active group of parents organized as Room Mothers give special services to the school. They assist the Administration and faculty in the activities undertaken by the School by sponsoring special events such as "Noche Puertorriquena", Family Days and Verbena as school spirit activities and/or for fund raising purposes. Their time and dedication is greatly appreciated. The School's Cafeteria provides food services to the students, faculty and staff. Breakfast, lunch and after school snacks are served on a daily basis. Cafetería Española is the concessionaire administering the food services. Care is given to a balanced menu that satisfies the students dietary needs. Various special arrangements can be made with the cafeteria manager in order to participate on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly payment schedule. Some of the clubs are: *National Honor Society, Yearbook Club, Library Club, Mathematics Club, Spanish Forensic Club, English Forensic Club, Science Club, Pastoral Club, Sports Club, Counselor Club, and a Bowling Club.In September 1966, across from a beach fringed with palm trees and one tall condominium, Colegio La Piedad was begun with grades pre-kindergarten through third grade. Under the leadership of Father Pacifico, the Passionist Fathers from Spain established the school which would be administrated by the Dominican Sisters of Saint Mary of the Springs, Ohio. Six years later, the first classes of the co-educational bilingual college preparatory high school were held on the third floor of the elementary building.
