Lab Report By Anton Khoutiev The Amity Bank was robbed and the cops needed our help to solve the case. A total of four suspects were rounded up and we had to figure out which one it was. Our purpose was to take a look at the crystals, letter, hairs, colored thread fibers, and parts of a note. With microscope we will figure out more details about the evidence provided. In this experiment our class will be the detectives trying to capture a criminal, partially similar to Law and Order. I think all four of the suspects are guilty. Once I received the hair sample I went to analyze it under the microscope. I put it on the slide and dropped some water on it. After that I put the cover slip on and I looked in the microscope. Looking at the packet description of a deer hair, I noticed that the hair sample was from a deer because of the similarities it has with the description and picture in the packet. After the hair sample I went to look at the microscopic letter which was an E. It also had ink dots that made up the E. I moved on to the thread to look at. As I was looking I noticed that the thread was transparent and made up of many other threads which can indicate the material is nylon. Moving on to the crystal, I looked at a salt crystal and a sugar crystal and noticed that the salt was more rectangular and sharp while sugar was slightly out of proportion. Also the salt had an x on it and the sugar didn’t. So when I looked at the undefined crystal I reasoned that its salt because of the x and bold shape it has. Then I received a piece of a note that me and my fellow classmates had to put together to make it make sense like a puzzle. The poem was not helpful for me but I don’t know about the others.
