ABSTRACT
Visual perception is the ability to assimilate details and information around us from the visible light which is collected from the organ called the eye. This allows us to learn more about our surroundings, including colors, shapes and dimensions, which would affect how we react in different situations.
The main difficulty in visual perception is that humans do not fully comprehend the information presented, but only understand the translation of retinal images on the eye. As such, in this project we would like to raise awareness and demonstrate several visual abilities where various stimuli are understood, analyzed and interpreted correctly.
Awareness of visual perception is useful in researching applications in areas such as healthcare – where doctor can diagnose a patient through visual inspection, entertainment – where players can immerse and enjoy themselves more in a more accurate virtual world, and military use – where targeting systems are build upon visual stimulation. There are endless applications of visual perception and it is only through research that we would be able to save cost, be more productive and eventually benefit mankind in the near future.
Based on research and findings, this project is focused on demonstrating several forms of visual perceptions and showcasing them in interesting ways.
