The Last of the Mohicans

The movie, The Last of the Mohicans, takes place in 1757, during the French and Indian War, when France and Great Britain battled for control of the North American colonies. The Mohican tribe would let no war come between their unity and brotherhood. The Englishmen were in need of troops, having only the Mohicans to turn to for reinforcement. Many of them entrusted local Indian guides to lead them to aid their suffering allies. However, many of those Indians were secretly enemies to the English. Magua, (a guide of the English) led a group of English troops astray. He let his fellow Indians know of their whereabouts, allowing them to attack the vulnerable Englishmen. The Indians came into the battle with knives and hatches, while the Englishmen had only rifles. The soldiers were on the brink of death when suddenly three Mohican Indians arrived. Their names were Chingachgook, Uncas, and Hawkeye. Only a few soldiers survived, and two women. Hawkeye was instantly attracted to Cora, a daughter of Colonel Munro.
The three Indians guided the remaining Englishmen to Fort Henry. Several English cavalrymen were rallying the town in search for an English militia against the French. Men were at first reluctant to join the militia, because if they left their homes to fight in the war, their families would be left unprotected and vulnerable to massacre by the local Indian enemy. Hawkeye led them where the Munro daughters were reunited with their father. The English army was still in need of troops, and Munro was beginning to realize that they might not be able to win the war. Hawkeye realized this too and made a bold move to help free some of the militia back to their now dead families. Their families were slaughtered and it was abiding to the English treaty made with the militiamen that they would have permission to leave. But Munro denied this right and felt that they should still believe that help was coming and they still had a chance. But I...
