It will help me develop my leadership skills across boundaries, encouraging collaboration and building networks. |

I wish to focus and work on the areas of the 360 report where others feel I am weak and I also feel I need to improve, namely: - inspiring others, developing others. |

Authentic theories – because I try and practise this and believe leadership should be moral and value based.Situational theories – I feel leadership should be applied differently depending on the circumstances but with the consistency of authenticity as mentioned above.Distributive theories – leadership should play on the strengths and skills of individuals in any organisation to give them satisfaction and also maximise their individual contribution to the whole. |

Boyatzis’ theory of self-directed learning – I am a firm believer that emotional intelligence is a key ingredient of great leadership, where you are in check and aware of your emotions when you act and how your actions have an effect on others in the organisation. |

By learning new and enhancing existing skills/competencies using the Boyatzi’s theory, then asking the same group of individuals to assess me again on the 360 leadership competencies to see if I have improved or not in any aspects. |
f. |
I need to take more time out for self-analysis, compare this to what I would like to act and keep a journal to record both these in every leadership action I perform. This will help me identify gaps and give me focus on areas I need to develop and give me the ability to try different strategies. I will work through the programme developed by West-Burnham and Ireson. |
