Leadership point of view is based on a belief that to create a great organization (Blanchard, 2010, p. 362). Great leadership starts with looking at me, who I am, and what I stand for (WebEx, 2013). I want to surface my beliefs about leading and motivating people and how to share my leadership point of view with others. Express my core values that guide my behavior as a leader and how to rank order my values when they are in conflict (WebEx, 2013).
My influencers in my life were my past supervisors, sister, pastor, and professors. I would lead others based on how I was lead. I will seek a mentor and initiate servant leadership before evolving into a leadership role. I want my mentor to advise me on the feedback for my strengths and weaknesses to have self-leadership. I want to have the honor to serve people before being served as a leader. I want my employees to be reassured that when they speak or offer an opinion that I hear with thoughtful attention and is giving it genuine attention (De Villiers, 2011) I want my employees to learn my values, moral, passions, and character by my actions. I would like the employees to acknowledge that I am passionate, vision driven, servant leader, task- oriented, and optimistic. I would like to teach my leadership attributes based on non-nonverbal and verbal communication. My belief is by giving an individual the answer will hinder him/or her from using their own knowledge. I realize that the employees will make mistakes on the way to the company’s values but they have to find their own way. My previous roles models challenged me to find the most suitable ways to fulfill the company’s vision. They always inspired me to bring my brain to work. They expressed their core values and inspiration for the organization. When I was being challenge through the learning curve it was an uncomfortable aspect, but it taught me work ethics.
