Marijuana is an underground drug harvested from a plant, broken down and sold for profit. This occurs in most states across the country. In the United States there is a big debate among citizens, wheatear Marijuana should be legal. The Government has the right to cap ones choices. It should be up to that person, he or she shall do as they will, and the government should not intervene unless it is harmful to or harming another individual.
There is proof that in the past and still to this current day that Prohibition is not good for the country. There is reason to believe that Marijuana being illegal is attracting more users. The Theory is called “Forbidden Fruit” which tempts more people to seek out the effects of the drug. There is no Government limit on Marijuana,”You don’t have to be 21 to buy it “. That is why it is much easier for a youth to obtain the drug Marijuana instead of Alcohol. There should be regulations by the government on the drug. To not only educate the youth of America but to also possibly reduce the usage amongst kids less than 18 years of age.
Another component to factor in is the cost of keeping Marijuana illegal. The United States spends billions on the “War against Drugs”. It would save our government millions of dollars a year if the marijuana side was abolished. It would also benefit the tax payers who are paying for jail sentences of hundreds of people locked away on marijuana related charges
