Learning Team Charter

From Team Leaders and Charters in the Learning Team Toolkit “ Chartering is the process by which the team is formed, its mission or task described, its resources allocated, its goals set, its membership committed, and its plans made.” Our team has made an initial effort to complete the initial draft of our team charter. Without exception all team members consider timeliness and professionalism to be of utmost importance, with the ultimate goal of academic success for the entire team. Each team member seems committed to this goal, as is clearly documented in our charter.

The self assessments showed some interesting traits that are shared among the entire team. All members scored between 44 and 49 on the listening scale and all members scored a 4 on the trust scale, with the exception of one member who scored a 0. Overall, I don’t foresee communication as an issue within a group of strong listeners, which should ease discussions regarding project goals and facilitate issue resolution. On our Jungian assessments we have one INFP, one ENFP, one ENTP, and an ESFP. Overall our team is made up of good listeners; most are extroverts, intuitive, feeling, and perceiving. Considering the fact that all of us should be very good at managing multiple projects and are interested in new and unusual things, I believe our group will work well together and that the extroverted nature of our team will lead to open discussion that will help us meet our academic goals.

While our team is made up of primarily like minded individuals; one of the areas on which we all agree is our adeptness at procrastination. In order for our team to be successful each member will have to make a concerted effort to manage time wisely. Based on our team charter all team members agree that each member must not only manage their time but also be responsible for their individual contributions to the team as well as their individual organization.
