Lefty, it is a term that has often been frowned upon throughout history. It is a term that is associated with the words like unlucky or awkward. On the other hand (no pun intended) you have a righty, often associated with words like coordinated and skillful but what is the correlation between the two you might ask? This is what we call handedness. Handedness, the preference between either your right or left hands, has been a very much studied subject. There has been many characteristics distinguished between either left handed or right handed individuals such as many famous artists throughout history have been known to be left handed and many studies have shown that right handed individuals are more prone to live longer lives(Coon, 89). There are many factors in a persons life that decide whether they are either left or more right hand oriented starting right from the womb. Handedness can sometimes be inherited from your very own parents. Yes thats right I said you can be either right or left handed because your parents were either right or left handed. Lateralization is the the specialization in the different brain hemispheres.

For decades, scientists have believed that approach motivation is computed mainly in the left hemisphere of the brain, and withdraw motivation in the right hemisphere. Brookshire and Casasanto's study challenges this...
