The Lessons I have learned in my life
My grandfather said “All I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in Kindergarten.” The lessons I have learned in my life I didn’t learn in kindergarten but, have showed me that everything isn’t as it seems. Life can be unfair, people will talk no matter what you do, and returning to school is harder, when you’re older.
My first lesson is, that life isn’t always fair, I’ve experienced this a time or two. Sometimes, you have family members taken too soon.. Another example of life not being fair is being passed up for a job that you really want. One time, I applied for a job as a front desk clerk, that I thought I would be prefect for. Unfortunately, I was passed up for the job. That’s why I decided to return to back to school.
The second lesson is you’re never too old, to go back to school. At thirty years old I decided to return to school, because I was being passed up for jobs and I wanted a better future. Even though you’re never too old, to go back to school it is hard when you have been out of school for twelve years. I’m working hard to better myself by going back to school, but there’s that one family member who likes to talk about things they do not know.
Finally, I’ve learned that people are going to talk no matter what you do. I’ve worked very hard for everything I have in life, I haven’t had a helping hand, but there’s that one distant family member who thinks they know everything. When, in reality they don’t have the slightest clue. I have one family member who has an opinion about everything, and has to know everything and gets upset if you don’t share your information. For instance, while I was pregnant with my daughter this family member would check in out of the “goodness” of her heart.
These lessons have showed me that everything isn’t as it seems, an no matter what you do life is going to keep teaching you new ones.
