This fund will only be used to purchase canvases and art supplies for the community project. This fund will not be used for any other need...smiles. I am working on contacting the local art supply store so that we can receive canvases at a discounted rate.

I started a community organization 2yrs ago called DUCAA (Dedicated United Cooperative Artist Association). It is a collective group of artist, musician and friends that I had the wonderful opportunity to meet throughout my travels in the last 10yrs. I was thinking of ways to allow us to join skills and give back to urban communities through inspired art and at the same time create a more unified sense of community pride well bringing out a call to actions from residents and government. MAP-IT was born...smiles. The program will kick-off in May 2013 and run through Sept 2013. We will create live art demonstration that will have an educational interactive component and these projects will take place in several areas around the city of Detroit where you would less except such as event, yet the areas are highly populated yet lack the inspiration of art. I have gathered volunteers that are working with me to complete the developmental stage of the program. In May 2012 we are holding our first fundraising event which I have called on my musician friends that have strong artist following to put on a performance benefit show to raise money. We will still need artist supplies and all funding would be appreciated in order to make this event and AWESOME success for deserving residents of this fine city...smiles.
