Life Outside of What You Know
In July 2010 I had the best vacation of my entire life. It only takes one moment of sight to take someone’s breath away. It may be beautiful to come, but not quite as much to t others. I believe that the most beautiful place in the world is Aquaba, Jordan. Experiencing different places outside of our culture gives people an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of other countries. Although not many people in the United States know about this beach, more people should.
It takes about fifteen hours from Chicago to arrive in Aquaba, Jordan. When I stepped off of the plane all I could feel was the great breeze blowing through my hair. In the taxi on my way to the hotel,, was one of the most exciting moments in my life. All I could see for miles and miles was the beautiful view of the Red Sea. There were ships along the coast, small boats out at sea, and thousands of people lying on the beach.
Arriving at the hotel was a sigh of relief. I was so anxious to see what the hotel had to offer. After check in, we got a tour of the different parts. There were three swimming pools to the right, left, and one right in front of you. Once you gazed past them all you could see was the beauty of the palm trees, sand, and sea. To the far right of the hotel was the dining area for a wonderful breakfast and dinner right on the beach with the most beautiful scene to look at up ahead.
My first night in Aquaba I left my hotel room around midnight. I stepped out of my hotel room onto the cool silky sand sliding between my toes. I was not familiar with the place yet so I did not go far. I walked about twenty yards down and sat on my blanket on the sand. I could hear the tide splashing along the shore. The week I spent there I would always leave my hotel around the same time of night to have time to myself and clear my mind full of thoughts. Sometimes my little brother would even join me.
