In January the prevailing winds are blowing more towards the middle areas of Africa and in July the winds are centered on the upper regions. Altitude contributes to the differences of climate between London and Lagos because certain parts of the land are elevated and the higher up in the atmosphere you go the colder the temperature gets. The differences in city size is one factor, the bigger the city the more people there are in that city therefore producing more heat from more people using more automobiles and energy.
