The Lovely Bones

This quarter I read the book called “The Lovely Bones” by Alice Sebold. There was a great truth hiding behind Susies eyes. Living a terrible life when she was still walking on the actual world. Susie’s last name was just like the fish “Salmon”. She has been dead since December 6, 1973. She was only 14 years old when a huge tragedy happened. Getting more into the story her sister Lindsey who is only 13 years old tries to find out what really happened to her.
The story mostly takes place in heaven where Susie does her regular chores. On December 6, 1973, in Norristown, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Philadelphia, Susie Salmon takes her usual shortcut home from her school through a cornfield. George Harvey, her 36 year old neighbour who tries to persuades her to have a look at an underground den he has recently dug in the field. The story continues and you come to find out the Mr. Harvey is the antagonist and Susie is the Protagonist. Susie is in heaven, everybody gets their own heaven. Her parents have hope and think she still alive, the police are investigating. Their first person to find guilty is Ray Singh, because the day before she died he wrote a note telling her how she felt. While Susie is up in heaven she finds out many truths about Mr. Harvey. Susie tried to so hard to send everybody “ghostly messages” to help her get revenge on Mr. Harvey. Susies funeral ends up taking place 2 months after she dies, her grandmother Abigail decided to come. Susie’s dad is so sure that Harvey is Susie’s killer, although they don’t believe him. How can that old man do such thing? Lindsey thought it was a good idea to try and break into the house one day in the fall.
I think this was a great book. I really enjoyed all the suspense it brought to me. The only thing I didn’t like was when it switched from heaven to earth. Lindsey wants to get Justice for her sisters death! Years passed by , her case was never solved. When Lindsay is 21 she decides to...
