Magna Carta
The Magna Carta is believed to be the cornerstone of liberty and things that aren’t right. And also is a constitution that holds rights of it’s on. As you can see the English have a constitution of their own the Americans do too. The Magna Carta is an example of a contract that helped build the Constitution. It was a contract between the King and the people that listed the rights of the Englishmen. The Magna Carta was signed in June 1215 between the barons of Medieval England and King John. 'Magna Carta' is Latin and means "Great Charter". The Magna Carta was one of the most important documents of Medieval England.1 This social contract produced the pursuit of happiness to Americans, Such as the freedom of speech, the right to assemble, and press. In saying the Magna Carta is a example of contract that helped make the constitution. Magna Carta was an attempt by the barons to stop a king - in this case John - abusing his power with the people of England suffering.1 At the time it seemed that King John was simply trying to give the people some freedoms. From the document, it can be said that the king had been unjustly taking from those who ruled. The Magna Carta however, is not important for the exact rules or concessions written in it but for other reasons that lie under the surface. The reasons are: The law is even above the king; and the king can be forcefully compelled to obey the law. In a way of my understanding the Magna Carta states that the free people and their family have the stated rights and they have them forever. No longer can the king take the rights stated in the Magna Carta from the people and no longer can the king be unaware of the law. 1
