"Strategic management and public policy issues have never been more important, both for university stakeholders and the rest of society. Issues of survival, quality of life, democracy, and ethics are increasingly being discussed and acted upon in greater breadth and depth both inside and outside the classroom. Our department seeks to connect with other organizations and individuals, within and outside the U.S., to explore opportunities and find solutions to address these issues as they involve business and significantly advance our educational and other societal goals."
Welcome to the website of the George Washington University Department of Strategic Management and Public Policy (SMPP)! Our faculty and staff are excited about involving you in our research, education, and service activities, so please peruse this site and let us know how we can collaborate.
Our department includes 14 full-time faculty members, 2 full-time staff members, and many adjunct faculty, student assistants, and other stakeholders interested in the general areas of strategic management and public policy. Our three "centers of excellence" focus on the areas of: social responsibility, ethics, and sustainability; business and public policy; and international strategic management. All three areas have contributed to and have been recognized in our WRI/Aspen Institute Beyond Grey Pinstripes rankings, in which we have been among the leaders in each of the 5 biannual rating periods.
Whether you are a GWSB alumnus, a representative of a business, government, or non-profit organiza tion, or an interested stakeholder, we welcome you to contact us as indicated below to discuss how we can work together in achieving our mutual goals in the area of strategic management and public policy!
