Managers Role within the Functions of Business
My paper will address how a manager can benefit from the basic functions that

make up the management process of business. Specifically, how a Human Resource
(HR) manager can use these functions to increase productivity and resolve conflicts. The
functional areas of business are described as planning, organizing, leading, and
controlling.
Planning

A
 good
 business
 leader
 must
 know
 how
 to
 listen
 and
 analyze
 employee

issues
 at
 hand
 and
 immediately
 implement
 a
 plan
 to
 resolve
 the
 conflict.

 HR

planning
 is
 assessing
 skill,
 knowledge,
 labor
 time
 requirements
 of
 the
 organization

and
 overseeing
 the
 recruitment
 and
 hiring
 of
 employees.

 change
 and

 people

 (Cascio,

2005).

 HR
 managers

 be
 transparent
 and

involve
 all
 members
 of
 the
 company
 to
 devise
 a
 plan
 for
 the
 success
 of
 the
 business.

In
 recent
 years,
 HR
 managers
 have
 created
 a
 plan
 that
 includes
 career
 development

(helping
 individuals
 align
 their
 career
 planning),
 organizational
 development

(helping
 groups
 initiate
 and
 manage
 change),
 and

 and
 development

(designing
 /
 developing,
 and
 delivering
 training
 to
 ensure
 people
 are
 equipped
 to
 do

their
 jobs)
