Children are giving a lot of shots starting the day they are born. I feel that children are giving way too many by the time they get into elementary school. These shots are all mandatory and they must have all of them before they are allowed to go to school. I feel that all these vaccines can be more harm than good sometimes, and some of them may be unnecessary.
Infants are giving so many shots at one time starting on the day after their born. There are times that they are getting 4 at one time and they get some sort of shot every well visit. The vaccines they need are as follows: “MMR two shots between 12 and 15 months, then 4 to 6 years, DtaP with five shots ane at 2, 4, and 6 months; a booster at 15 months; and a final one at 4 to 6 years, Hib three shots 2 , 4 months, and the last between 12 to 15 months, Influenza (flu) two shots one month apart then one shot annually, Varicella (chicken pox) one shot between 12 to 18 months, Hepatitis B one shot at birth; two more over the next six months, Pneumococcal four shots at 2, 4, and 6 months, and at 12 to 15 months, Polio four shots at 2, 4, 6 to 18 months, and 4 to 6 years. Children getting needles that often can be traumatizing. My kids would hate going to the doctors because every time I took them they had to get a shot. My children would also not eat for the rest of the day and all they would do is sleep. There are some vaccines that I feel are unnecessary or could wait till their older.

I feel that the government should not tell us how or when to vaccinated our children. I fell that parents should be able to choose if their children get certain shots. The flu vaccine is one of the shots that are now mandatory in the state of NJ. I have never giving my youngest or oldest the flu vaccine and they have never gotten the flu. The law is...
