The first characteristic that Martin Luther King II mentioned is acquiescence. In this characteristic, he explains how people give up to oppression and become used to it. He believed that this is not the way to solve the sorrow that the Negroes were being put through. As a matter of fact, he criticized the people who exercise this method. These following lines prove, "To accept passively an unjust system is to cooperative with that system; thereby the oppressed become as evil as the oppressor.”
“Nations have frequently won their independence in battle. But in spite of temporary victories, violence never brings permanent peace. It solves no social problems; it merely creates new and more complicated one.” According to World Health Organizations, Each year, over 1.6 million people worldwide lose their lives to violence. Having a family member serving in Iraq is very stressful, and hearing upsetting news about the war only add up to our worries. I am heartbroken over the loss of lives and I pray the war will soon be over forever.
Nonviolence means without using bombs or weapons, but by marches, boycotts, inspiring words and speeches. Martin Luther King II believed that all people could make peaceful changes. He believed that men could change their hearts.
. I believe that all men were created equal, all men have the right to go wherever they want, they have the right to eat wherever they want, and they have the right to get the same amount of salary for doing the same job.
