Master’s Prepared Nurse Interview
Introduction
The purpose of this interview is to acquire awareness of the interplay among nursing education, career paths, and prospects available in this field after the completion of master’s studies. This interview will shed some light on the master’s prepared nursing profession and positions available to students after the achievement of their master’s degree. For this interview I have chosen [xyz] as a candidate. She has acquired master’s degree in nursing in 2012, from Villanova University, College Of Nursing, and she is also certified in pain management and orthopedic nursing. She is also a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) certified currently performing her CNS job duties in Bryn Mawr Hospital in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. She is also participating in different hospital wide commissions that are designed to ensure patient safety, nursing administration and performance improvement. I have chosen her for interview because she has been a bright, outstanding and excellent student in all her educational and professional life.
Overview of career in nursing
She has a lot of working experience as a nurse. She got her Bachelor’s degree in 2003, her Master’s degree in 2009, and her Post Masters Clinical Nurse Specialist board certification afterwards. After graduating from high school, she got admission in the Villanova’s undergraduate nursing program in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After successfully completing her degree she started her first nursing job in a Bryn Mawr Hospital. During this job, she made up her mind to pursue higher studies in her field. She is currently employed as a Resource Nurse Clinician and she is in charge of all patient, staff and student education. She also assists to build, write and change policies and conduct chart inspections as well as help staff.
