Matrix organization: group of resource with similar skill were assigned to work under one department and report to a Manager. These group of resources / engineers will also serving different projects and report to a project manger while working on that project. As such, each engineer may have to work under several managers to get their job done

With noted inefficiency performance from Charlie’s contribution to the project, his functional manager decided to replacement him with Dave’s, who’s ability to learn quickly but tends to be a professional and work on his own among the team. Enclosed with three (3) risks involve to such type of arrangement of introducing such members to a project team;
1. Teamwork and team spirit: “The feeling of pride and loyalty that exists among the members of a team which make them want their team to do well or to be the best”, quoted by dictionary reverse.net which stated the power of team effort than individual contribution. As understanding that all project will need team effort to accomplish all tasks requirement prior successful to a completion project. With individual like Dave’s join in to the team, it will like a breaking chain which information and instruction will “freeze” in-between somewhere in project life cycle and will not move forward. Refer to Sanghera (2010) pp.267, if team members on a project do not cooperate with each other’s or communicate effectively with each others, it will be difficult for the project manager to successfully execute the project despite having a skilled team
2. Conflicts among team: With Dave ego attitude, there will be highly possibility of creating conflicts among others team members
3. Management of approved change order: With approved change order from stakeholder, it tense to have normal resistance from team members which approaching them to carry out such “additional work load”. It will be even greater difficulty to manage the team if co-ordination and cooperation split was not bond...
