Me as a Mirror in the Hall of Mirrors

Me as a Mirror in the Hall of Mirrors

I am a mirror. I know it is a bit odd but I have a great story to tell. It is of a great man, the king of France, Louis XIV, the sun king. I am no ordinary mirror, but one of mirrors in the hall of mirror and not only that I am the first one. I was made by glass maker who never made a mirror before but the king knew he could trust them. They were the best glass makers in the country and if I do say so myself they did an amazing job us, but the king wouldn’t have had it any other way. The men were so kind and took us to the palace carefully where we could live our lives in peace, with a roof over our tops and a beautiful view of the kings gardens. Our lives didn’t really begin until this moment and from that day on everyday around noon the king would pass us. This was my favorite part of the day because on many occasions the king would talk of politics and important decisions, how that interested me I loved all the speeches he would practice announcing in front of me but most of all I loved to see the joy in his face and act he did perform everyday. Being the first in the hall of mirrors it became easy for me to spot things. I was the first to notice that his wife was expecting and the first to notice the same of Marie Antoinette. Though the king was never with out a mistress he loved his wife and was very much a family man. When the king became fatally ill he sent his current mistress away and let me tell you, she was not very happy about it. Now I get to see hundreds of people a day. Sometimes some one would walk past and they would remind me of him and that is now the perfect day for me. As a mirror I really couldn’t has ask for a better life.
