Medical Receptionist
Job Description
The career that I found most interesting this week was a Medical Receptionist, now I know it doesn’t sound glorified or anything and it’s not but it is a great entry level position to help you make your mind up when it comes to the Medical Administration career field. The two areas I found this job to be available are at Bayview Physicians Group in Hampton Roads, VA and University of Cheyenne, WY. (salary 2015) This position entails greeting customers and making sure they have paperwork completed for their appointment that day. Preforming clerical duties in a front office is key in this position and someone who cannot multitask is probably not the right person for this position.
Qualifications
Both Bayview and UCHealth are looking for the same things when it comes to qualifications. In order to be considered for this position you must have a high school diploma and or you’re GED. Excellent customer service skills is a must along with great telephone skills. Front desk experience would be a great asset to have but it isn’t necessary to be considered for the position. Being knowledgeable of medical terminology is needed for the simple fact you would be dealing with patient charts and doctor’s notes.
A little bit about
Bayview Physician Group is a rapidly growing outpatient multi – specialty medical group that strongly believes the doctor patient relationship is the cornerstone of quality healthcare. They staff more than 600 positions in the Hampton Roads area. They also offer a competitive benefits package to the full time employees, but I couldn’t find any hardcore information on what it is exactly that they offer. UCHealth has an interesting business statement...
