Elements of Management at Little Valley Farms
There are many aspects and elements to keep in consideration in reference to what may be considered a successful business or organization. Several of the most important key aspects that many businesses should be aware of and hold the most importance are planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling. These elements tend to be a good starting point for any organization and successful business and provide a solid back bone for many companies to follow. The following report will attempt to demonstrate the importance of these key elements and terms and use examples from the company “Little Valley Farms”. By the end of this report, readers will have a better understanding as to how these elements of business management are incorporated into agricultural jobs related to the dairy and farming industry.
Little Valley Farms is a simple scructured profit organization that consists of the dairy owner along with the owner’s son who is partial owner, relief employees, and full time employees. The purpose of Little Valley Farms is to provide milk and dairy services to companies both locally and nationwide. Little Valley Farms also works closely with third party companies such as Milky Way who are in charge of delivering these products to different grocery chains across the nation. This particular company along with dairy owner Elizabeth Stevens has been providing these goods and services for over twenty five years which makes Mrs. Stevens a perfect candidate for a manager that meets four important critia for becoming a manager. These include knowledge of all machinery and equipment, experience with dairy cattle including aiding sick cattle and pregnant cattle, experience managing fellow employees, and the ability to quickly discover problems and threats and solve them accordingly....
