Once upon a time there was a young girl who lived on the streets named Meadow. After snatching her dinner from the local bakery, Meadow raced down the town’s riverbank to her hideout. As she sinks her teeth into the loaf of bread, a dark towering witch appears before her. “Meadow” the witch’s voice crackles “This life has hardened you and I’ve come to take away all you have known.” The witch then reaches out and touches Meadows open hand. In the center of her palm appears a small dark speckle that grows and grows and continues to grow as if her hand is filling with a black puddle, then “Poof, it burst into the air creating a cloud. Meadow falls down and becomes wheezy. The last thing she hears is the witch whisper, “to survive the curse young Meadow you must overcome 3 challenges and find the mirror of royalty to save the princess. Meadow then falls asleep from the curse cloud.
The next morning Meadow woke up only to believe she imaged the witch in her mind. She stood laughing at the entire thought and began to brush the dirt and hay off her clothing. Only to notice the veins in her palm had turned black and were working their way up her wrist very slowly. It was the curse. Meadow then realized the witch was real and she must complete this quest in order to live. Meadow then grabbed her small amount of remaining food and began her journey down the river bank with just the clothes on her back. She didn’t know if she was heading in the right direction but assumed that through the woods to the royal castle was a start.
Meadow arrived at the town’s edge to discover a snarling dog lurking about. The dog ran towards anyone who appeared to be approaching its direction only for the fearful town’s people to run in the opposite direction. Meadow attempted to sneak past the dog only for the dog to hear her footsteps turn and run after Meadow. Meadow had to think fast. She reached into her pocket and found the rest of the bread loaf and threw it towards the dog....
