Energy conservation is the most important idea within ecosystem that we all currently live. The conservation practices are good ideas that everyone needs to implement into daily routine. Energy conservation practices include using compact florescent lights, buy energy efficient appliances, car pool or use mass transit systems to reduce the amount of pollution and energy. These practices are just the beginning of the green movement. America needs to redefine how it uses energy. Energy resources come two different ways; non-renewable and renewable. Non-renewable resources are carbon based resources found on earth. These resources consist of oil, natural gas and coal. These resources are the major contributors of pollution in the world. These resources when burned emit carbon into atmosphere, this is known as the greenhouse effect. Sulfur dioxide is also emitted into the air when coal is burned; this gas mixes with precipitation and oxygen to create acid rain. These resources are used daily to create energy for us to live comfortably; is comfort worth the price of destroying the atmosphere and the earth’s ecosystem. Renewable resources can help to offset the awful affects caused by nonrenewable resources. Renewable resources include wind, water, vegetation and geothermal. These resources are an invaluable tool to the future of our planet. If the issues we currently practice dominate society; the future is bleak. The green movement needs to sustain a cost effective way to produce energy to help keep the earth healthy.
The problems that nonrenewable resources create are global warming, acid rain, human health effects, rising of sea levels, destruction of habitat for vegetation and wildlife. The resources emit carbon dioxide when they combust in power plants. These power plants use these resources to create power to generate electricity to power our homes and cities. The United States is the highest fossil fuel, CO2, emitting country in the World, with 1.59 billion...
