MLK Speech Review

My thoughts on the Martin Luther King Speech of “I Have A Dream”. I have heard this speech before back in my high school English class. In addition, I remember watching the video of this famous speech. I was very interested in this speech due to always hearing about it growing up in history class.

After going over the written speech in our book. I found a few of my favorite paragraphs from the words of Dr. King But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. And so, we've come to cash this check, a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice this paragraph is a favorite, Dr. King honestly tells it like it is. The government honestly was just messing with the African Americans than and they continue to do so today.

Another paragraph I found very interesting was “I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal." I do believe that we have woken up and are living out the true meaning of its creed, but we still have some for of racism today, and it needs to stop. Further more I found this paragraph of his speech very interesting also: I have a dream that one day every valley shall be exalted, and every hill and mountain shall be made low, the rough places will be made plain, and the crooked places will be made straight; "and the glory of the Lord shall be revealed and all flesh shall see it together."² This is our hope, and this is the faith that I go back to the South with. With this faith, we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope.
