I want you to think about a time you’ve been told to do something, but made an excuse why you couldn’t do it. Why do we made excuses? Well today we’re going to see that we’re not the only ones to make excuses. Do you remember where we left off last week? (Moses had run away from Egypt and was living in the desert. He married a shepard girl and overcame many challenges.)
Our story starts out with Moses in the desert. He had been there for many years. He still loved God but wasn’t quite sure what God was doing in his life. After all, Moses had been raised as a prince of Egypt but was born an Israelite (one of God’s chosen people). Yet there he was taking care of sheep long way from Egypt. (WOW! Did you hear that? God was going to send Moses back to Egypt to bring the Hebrews out of Egypt! This would be a very big job!) And do you know how Moses responded? He responded with an excuse. He said, Who am I that I should go to pharaoh and set those people free? God said, I will be with you. I will give you a...
