Looking at the world today you can see how there is a constant pull to be able to understand how a computer functions to get ahead in life particularly in the IT world. Therefore even when you do not intend to be within the field of java programming a basic understanding is quite beneficial. Looking at this concept you could easily compare a fisherman to an it developer because even when a fisherman has a certain type of species that they enjoy to catch or pursue they at least have a limited knowledge on how to deal with a range of species similar to how an IT worker wants to deal with a certain part of the IT world and at least has a variety of knowledge within the IT world. Looking more directly at having an understanding of the java programming aspect of the IT field an individual wants to have a basic knowledge of how to understand and comprehend the java programming language for many different reasons.
These reasons can be intermediate or advanced depending on the situation that an IT individual needs to know them for. One key reason for an IT individual to know and understand java is because it is so universal and used everywhere you look. An example of a reason that an IT individual would want to know and understand the java programming language is say that the company they work for is having an issue with a program that they have and do not want to investigate it outside of the company due to its cost for investigation by a third party having an IT individual with minimal knowledge of the java language would be highly beneficial. Another example would be say the IT individual want to show the corporation they work for that with a simple Java-based program they would be able to increase their capital.
As you can see there are many reasons that an individual in the IT world wants to have a limited knowledge...
