Men and women have been at war since the beginning of time. This war is a never ending cycle that tends to bring out the best in one's significant other. Benedick and Beatrice possess this kind of relationship while Hero and Claudio do not. Beatrice and Benedick's relationship is much more real than what Claudio and Hero have because the former's relationship has a solid foundation and the latter's is based solely on looks.
Firstly, Beatrice and Benedick's possess the most real relationship because they have known each other longer, directlcy causing them together. Beatrice confirms this when she mumbles under her breath "you always end with a jades trick; I know you of old" to Benedick (A1 SC.2 L.142) By having past experiance with each other, Benedick and Beatrice can know if they are truly compatible with each other. Hero and Claudio on the other hand can say no such thing. Claudio had decided he would mary Hero before had even met her face to face. When a man writes a poem for a women it can be assured that he is madly in love, no matter how much he objects. This is a true sign of true and deep love for one's significant other. Hero and Claudio's relationship on the other hand, being based only on looks, will only last so long before it falls apart. "Give not this rotten orange to your friend" (A.4...
