Multiethnic Community

I came to the United States in the year 2000 in search of a multiethnic community from which to acquire a stronger knowledge base of different cultures and languages. Furthermore, I wished to obtain an education that would competently prepare me to pursue a career in the business field. The United States is a country that fosters an environment in which a diverse pool of individuals from varying cultural and ethnic origins is able to live and work together in relative harmony. It is unique in that, despite its often-likened comparison to that of a “melting pot,” each culture that forms a part of this “pot” has succeeded in maintaining some degree of its own uniqueness. In this manner, the United States has become the center of multicultural awareness.
When compared with others, the field of business is one that requires a significant amount of time working with other people. The knowledge of how people think and act is crucial for any person pursuing a career in this area, and the experience I have and will continue to gain while interacting with individuals from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds here in the United States will be an asset regardless of where I decide to work. As a result, it is my wish that my continued time studying and living in the United States will broaden my scope of thinking as well as expand my currently limited experience with cultural competency. In addition, I hope that studying in a recognized business program here in the United States will also grant me the opportunity to establish lasting relationships with other students and professors who aspire to achieve similar goals, thereby allowing an exchange of ideas and assistance on how to better achieve success.
