The Multifactorial model listed in figure 4.3 identifies several overall factors that play key roles in how people’s healths are affected for the good and for the bad. These factoring categories are personality factors, sociocultural factors, environmental factors, behavioral factors, biological factors and stressors. Every category addresses specific areas that lead or can lead to mental or physical illnesses but can also contribute to good health decisions. Many of the illnesses that people suffer today can be diagnosed through the multifactoral model available in the text for example, a person that suffers from an illness that presented itself at birth or developed over time is mainly the result of a biological factor meaning the family has a history of this specific illness or the illness my steam from a birth complication. Regardless of where the illness derives from, it is typically the result of a biological factor. Another example is illnesses that are diagnosed deriving from an environmental factor. Illnesses that result in exposure to radiation, pollution, water quality or architectural features such as installation or design and many more causes, are all diagnosed as environmental factors to illnesses. The multifactorial model gives a pretty good outline on why people experience some of the feelings and health problems that they do. When a person is experiencing a health issue, it is a good idea to trace the problem back to the source in order to determine the correct form of action to take to minimize or delete future problems. Out of all the factors categorized in figure 4.3, there are several health problems that could seriously affect a person’s health if not properly maintained.
