The Musical Passion

Passion is a powerful word that can be derived into anything. It can lead you to a different path, gate, or portal. Whether if it’s positive or negative, it can be a driving force inside of us. It can push us towards the edge and can challenge our limits. Each one of us is unique and holds a different passion, which is the element that shapes our world. My goal is to shape the world with my passion, music. The combination of symphony and lyrics in music has taught me to overcome my barriers by eliminating distractions, stress, and depression.
Music has helped me overcome distractions during math class. In geometry class, it’s not hard to get distracted from all the commotions around you. There was a time when my geometry teacher permitted us a chance to listen to music. When I plugged in my earphones, I no longer had any connections with the events occurring around me. All I could hear was the symphony and lyrics streaming through my ears. The sensation was like a never-ending train traveling through the neurons. I realized that this train sped up my work progress. I accomplished more than I could ever imagine. Blocking distractions increased my productivity, therefore overcoming my barrier.
Another barrier that I overcame was emotions. Emotions are chemical reactions that are powerful enough to overwhelm us. There are times when we don’t know how to handle these emotions. Emotions can even affect our ability to carry out everyday tasks. This was when music came into role. One the night of my dog’s cremation, my emotions took me over. It was like the whole Milky Way exploded into millions and millions of star shards. The emotions were a combination of rage, depression, and desperation. The only thing that healed my scar overtime was music. I listened to songs with dark lyrics and trance symphony. These songs helped me because I could relate to the story written within the...
