My experience as a Reader

Eccentric people enjoy the flow and syntax of many types of readings but to others its just a waste of their time bothering to understand the writers diction. My experience as a reader, I happen to lack on understanding of the readings and keeping my focus when there is distractions around me, therefore I try many strategies into understanding the text and becoming a strong reader.
Depending on what pieces of reading there is one gets interested or lazy by reading certain ones. I happen to get bored in most of them unless they could be about relationships/love , teenagers or other interesting topics. But then of course if its an assigned reading I have to try my best in understanding the piece. There is many ways and tips into recognizing and understanding challenging sentences. As Bartholomae stated “you pay attention, even when you don’t completely understand what is being said, trusting that it will all make sense in the end, relating what the author says to what you already know or expect to hear or learn” [2], which its true because when one is very out of it and doesn’t understand completely anything. One should separate sections and analyze briefly/carefully each by annotating any important facts found or that may help with understanding the piece. Referring to the essay “Ways of Reading” that Bartholomae wrote, I try to make sense of each challenging word or I defined it till I understood the sentence. Once I started understanding each sentence I asked my self the significance of each, which at the end without realizing it I created a thesis. In addition, one can relate to the reading with certain situations that can occur to many other readers.
