My Mandala

Everyone says a picture is worth a thousand words but I say mine is worth a million. No one else is quite like me or my mandala. My longing for independence, intelligence, culture, ability to love without recognitions, and my passion for music is what separates me from everyone else. All these represent different parts of me, but when they’re brought together you see the whole me.
My independence makes up a big part of who I am. Being independent, shows a level of maturity and freedom I know I can accomplish, but is hard to reach due to the ways of my parents. Since, I am the youngest, my parents are more experienced and strict with me, so I’m not able to do most things many other teens are able to do. I know it’s for my own good, but I’m responsible enough to know the difference between right and wrong. I am always longing for the day where I can just break free from all the oppressing and constricting rules and to be able to express everything I am. I know once I move out on my own I will be able to do and say what I please. Until that day, I am going to be the bird, stuck in its cage, singing until it can be set free and roam the Earth.
Intelligence has helped me become the person I am today. Without intelligence, I wouldn’t understand why things happen the way they happen. Honestly, without intelligence I believe I would be a Neanderthal. I set high goals for myself because I know I can accomplish them with the knowledge that I have. I consider myself to be a very intelligent, wise, and articulate young lady. I didn’t get my intelligence on my own. With the help of my teachers and my mother, I have acquired an immense amount of intelligence. My intelligence has brought me to a level of maturity, which has ultimately helped me accomplish my goals in life.
My culture has a big impact in my life, I am very proud of my roots and where I came from. I express myself through my culture. I wear a claddaugh every day to represent my Irish heritage. Before I go...
