Have you ever wondered what you were going to do with your life? I know I have. Before I attended Business Horizons, I had no idea what I wanted to do for a living or what classes I wanted to take in college. Thanks to Business Horizons, I finally have discovered something I would enjoy. I plan to have a career in business and major in business and economics. To explain how I came to this decision, I need to explain the events that occurred at Business Horizons that led up to my decision. All of the activities at Business Horizons, the teambuilding activities, the simulations, the lectures, and the making and marketing of my Industry’s product, helped me come to the conclusion that I actually like business. I was originally not very excited about attending Business Horizons, but once I actually saw how things were going, I was thrilled. Business was both fun and challenging at the same time. What I enjoyed the most was the Management and Economics Simulation Exercise, or the MESE game. The MESE game is a computer simulation designed to allow a team of people simulate the management of a small business for a period of two and a half years. I will explain the MESE game in more detail later. Despite my enjoyment of Business Horizons, it wasn’t all fun and games. We experienced a few very informative college level lectures on different subjects and topics in business. These lectures were on such subjects as economics, creativity in business, entrepreneurial skills, and management strategy. Contrary to what is commonly believed, however, these lectures were very enjoyable. Not only did they have relevant information, but the speakers presented the lectures in such a way that they were able to keep the audience focused, informed, and entertained. It is because of these events and subjects that I have decided to have a future in business.
