My Background
I am originally from St. Louis, Missouri, the eldest of nine children. I grew up Missouri, but wanted to travel. I after thirteen years of marriage and a divorce, I moved to California with my daughters and opened a Licensed Childcare, for children ages birth to 12 years old. I also later cared for the disabled and also did in-home care for a disabled young man for one and a half years. Most of my life has been spent taking care of children, although for the past few years I have worked as Administrative Assistant in several Mortgage companies. Over the years I have been disabled with the latest issue being back surgery. I am using this downtime to recoup and since the Real Estate market has been so terrible, I felt this was the perfect opportunity to go back to school to get my degree to teach. I’m excited and scared because it’s been a while, but I’m excited!
Personal Interest:
My all time favorites are cooking home cooked meals, making dishes from all over the world, and also I love gardening and anything having to do with plants and horticulture. I love working with children especially toddlers, I enjoy organizing anything and everything, and I like watching my movies, especially Stargate Atlantis! I enjoy drawing, painting, scrap booking and all things creative. My daughters are grown now but are close by which is great.
I am a little bit less nervous about this online class, but I know myself, and as soon as I work through the "how to’s" of it all, I will be ok. Hopefully I will be able to wrap my head around some of the theories and be able to use them in daily life. I believe this will help me understand more of the principles, and use them to become a well rounded teacher.
Good luck to you all!
