Education system in India is in the need of reforms today and many reforms have aready been made in this connection by the higher authorities.
Reforms in the field of education are more needed in the rural areas than in urbanized cities as in big cities several measures are taken every now and then to improve upon the existing education pattern but village masses because of their orthodox thinking and limitation of financial resources lag behind in the field of education.
Firstly, the major reforms needed in educational system are the removal of the criteria of judging one’s caliber through the marks one scores in his his/her examinations. In India, the job opportunities are given to those privileged student who fair exceptionally well in exams (be, it by ant means) where as the ones who are not able to score well are denied admissions in professional colleges even though they may be quite good in other skills. Because of the fear of failure, several end their lives in India. This matter should be seriously looked into by the authorities and reforms should be made to make education aptitude oriented and suited to the child’s interests.
Secondly women should be given more opportunities in education, which they are denied especially in rural areas.
Through the aids of mass media, electronic print media and computer mass education based programs should be telecast so that these reach and educate a wider audience, who are really in need of it.
If in near future, govt. takes stringent measures to introduce and implement such reforms in the field of education, no fore can stop us in reaching at the top.
