New Lesson Out of The Class

Normally, Mahidol Wittayanusorn’s M.5 students have to go to an academic camp at least one time. I am one of them, so I attended a Mathematics camp at Petchaburi to learn about the restoration of Huay Sai. This place used to be very dry, but with the help of vetiver grass it is now arable. When I knew that I was assigned to the camp one, I had some disappointments because it wasn’t what I wanted. However, what I obtained from this camp is different from what I had first imagined. I think the most impressive place is Huay Sai Royal Development Study Center, where the new lesson out of the class began.
With my first step on Huay Sai Royal Development Study Center I felt very fresh. Even if it was a sunny day, there were many butterflies flying around me and many trees both short and tall with green leaves that made this area shady and cool. The study center is in Huay sai, so throughout this field trip the temperature and sunlight were big problem; however, with the preparation to bring sun block and a cap, the kindness of friends that shared shade from umbrellas and being amused all the time, I got through these problems smoothly. This center is so wide and I went everywhere on foot but same as before I wasn’t tired because I always had friends with me.
Things I learned from this center were about vetiver grass, a wonderful plant which can protect and restore dehydrated soil and make treeless mountains to be covered with more than 30 years ago even though it isn’t same as origin. I think this knowledge is very useful in the future and maybe give me an advantage for my science project. Besides Vetiver grass, I learned how to make compost by myself which I anticipate making it at my home. Even though you can read all of these from books, I believe that things learned from performing in the real situations will last on our brain and be difficult to remove.
