This article already frustrated me in the first paragraph. It states that “…New York’s requirement that people wishing to carry a handgun in public show a special need for protection.” I am not a fan for this law. I think that carrying a handgun in public should be not allowed, except for a State employee. Like a police officer, a security guard, or an FBI agent. Honest citizens is not the answer to anything! All it does is make it easier for gun-wielding criminals to overpower their victims! Next time the Judge gets a gun shoved in his face, maybe he'll finally understand. Of course, usually Judges & politicians are exempt from the decisions they make. I feel sorry for the people of New York!!
Bad things that could happen if you leave people with a weapon. You don’t know what they are capable of doing and you don’t know what they want to do with it. But the thing is…do you really need to carry, or own high power assault rifles? You're telling the world that Americans need to own and carry guns anywhere in USA since they don't trust their police and armed forces. Police are there as the protectors of the citizens. They do not, or cannot always be in the right place at the right time, but that is the responsibility we place on them. We give them the right to carry arms, in order to do their jobs.
But on the other hand, Americans will always have the right to carry weapons. The idea is to make them safe. A gun license should be as stringent as a driver’s license. Study safety laws, practice, take you test. It’s not legal gun owners that are the problem, its criminals. The legal owners need to be concerned about safety and securing their weapons. Nobody is going to do anything, as long as the majority of folks in this country are fat and happy, believing that the internet and it's spoon-fed information and the nanny state society being projected and constructed by the likes of Facebook and Google are more important than living...
