Nhs Essay

National Honor Society, (NHS), is a school-based community that exhibits the academics, leaderships, character, and service of Honored students. I would like to be part of this organization because I know that helping others to achieve these qualities and reaching the goals are very acceptable to be passed on through out others. To be recognized as a NHS committee, you must reach the goals of an “A” average, which is maintaining a GPA of 3.0 or above.
To begin with, being a leader is a huge commitment for our society today. A leader is someone who is willing to take stand and lead anyone in the right direction to accomplish any type of criteria. For instance, if there is a substitute filling in for a teacher who may not know how to explain the assignment, then take lead and explain what needs to be done.
Next, another important qualification would be academics. Today, academics are important due to jobs, colleges, resumes and so on. Having good grades will get you into many different types of colleges, and maybe even getting you into your dream job. For example, after I graduate from college, I would love to become a teacher or a veterinarian. In order for me to reach my goal, I would need good grades and a college degree.
To add on, having great character in yourself is also an important factor in our society. “Character is doing the right thing when nobody’s looking” – J.C. Watts.
