I am from a semi large but fairly sized town compared to some in the state of Michigan. The town I am from is called Traverse City. the town of Traverse City is known for it's National Cherry Festival every year in July. Cherry Festival gathers thousands of people to it for it's flee markets, carnival rides, parades, but most of all it's cherries. Traverse City is also known for the worlds largest cherry pie as well as being the cherry capital of the world. I grew up there, but it wasn't as fun as it may seem, it was decent but with as many people there was, it could be hectic at times, especially during New Years Eve, and the Cherry festival. The few things I liked to do when I lived in Traverse City is, swim in the bay, visit the mall, visit the local stores, and meet my family there. Traverse City is a simply beautiful town and in order to believe how beautiful it is, you would have to come here and visit. The locals are nice and friendly, if you need directions, all you have to do is stop at a gas station and someone would be happy to point you in the correct direction of which way to go and how long it will take you.

The things you can see in Traverse City are, the Grand Traverse Mall, the wonderful lake Michigan, but us locals call it "The Bay." Traverse City is also known for the Casino on the out skirts of town. I also hear from word of mouth we have some wonderful wine tasting events that happen often. The things you can do in Traverse City are, go boating on the bay or as professionally called Lake Michigan, you can also go wine tasting, try our local cherries, go to the Grand Traverse Mall, The local opera house has shows often, go to the local restaurants, visit downtown and the stores there and visit the pie tin where the worlds largest cherry pie was baked in. There are numerous other things you could do, but that would spoil the fun if I told you everything.

The popular foods here are, obviously the cherries, we have fudge in the town called...
