Drug addiction is the use of a drug or substance for any reason other than which it’s intended for or in a manner or in large amounts other than what it is used for. Many people get addicted to drug for many reasons. Environmental and society could be an issue because an individual could be going through hard times and use drugs for an outlet or to feel better. Also addiction could come from peer pressure because a teen or an adult could get pushed into using and get addicted by taking drugs for the first time. Mental and physical problems become an issue because a person could get addicted of drugs from being sick and get a prescription from doctor. But there is treatment out there for people that want to get help and shake addiction.
There are many reasons how an individual can become addicted to drugs. One of them are being in a different environment or face socioeconomic issues. The environment could be poverty stricken or even the individual could live in a stable community and still get pressured because they are trying to keep up with others and get stressed out. A user could be around family members that use drugs and get pressured to try because of curiosity. Not having a job or facing financial hardship and look for comfort by using drugs as a way to get out of their current situation. Physical and mental abuse is also a reason why people get addicted to drugs. An individual can get prescribed drugs if different issues and get addicted to them by not taking the prescribed amount. Teens could fall into addiction to drugs because of being pressured into trying them or because they are hanging around a crowed that also do drugs. They also get pressured into doing drugs because new drugs will be a new thing to try and the teen would want to experience the high of a new drug being around.
